Hiya my lovelies, I hope you’re well on this Saturday. I’m writing this post in advance as I know 10th of March is going to be so, so hard for me. I’ve briefly mentioned before, this day back in 2017 was one of the worst days of my life, losing the man I loved in an awful hit and run tragedy… I can’t go in to any other details as it’s just too painful. I need the weekend to be able to both grieve, and remember the good times.
Makeup Revolution Cremè Highlight and Contour Kit
Today we have the much talked about Makeup Revolution Cremè Highlight and Contour Kit. As you can see, it’s pretty much a dead on dupe for the KKW Cremè Contour and Highlight Kit. Now there are different views on if it’s ok for companies to dupe each other’s makeup, but I’ve said on more than one occasion I think it’s great we have budget options for these on trend products. If you want me to do a separate post on this, I’m more than happy to.
The dual ended sponge buffing and buffing brush is the biggest surprise for me in this kit. When I first saw her on video’s and pictures, I wasn’t sure it would be my cup of tea, but I have to say I’ve been pleasantly surprised. You have a nice sturdy handle in the middle, and feels substantial for a good grip.
The sponge end is allot more pliable that I thought, and feels like you can probably geta good blend. I like the shape, and think the flat part will be good for getting the cream highlight in the eye area.
This buffing brush feels very soft, and feels lovely on the skin. It will be good for blending out that countour and bronze. I’ll let you know about any shedding and ease of cleaning in my upcoming review.
Makeup Revolution Highlight Stick Fair
The packaging on these sticks is so pretty, and pairs very nicely with the Fast Base Foundation. The mirror shine rose gold is just so pretty, and again makes these sticks feel more high end than budget.
Makeup Revolution Highlight Stick Fair
Here’s the swatches, and as you can see they are very nicely pigmented. The creamy highlight/brightener is a great colour for me, and glides across the skin with ease. I feel like it has a neautral undertone, so would work for various skintones.
The shimmery side has a pearl finish with a real pinky sheen. It doesn’t glide across the skin as easy, but still gives a very pretty sheen. I feel like it’s showing texture on my dry hands, so I’m hoping that won’t be the case once she’s been on the cheeks for a time.
Makeup Revolution Contour Stick Fair
As you can see the packaging is exactly the same as the highlight, which I think will be quite confusing if your trying to reach for one of them in a hurry. But when they are as pretty as this, I can’t be mad, can I? The formula in these is creamier than the highlighter and are incredibly smooth across the skin.
Makeup Revolution Contour Stick Fair Swatches
As you can see, the bronzer is very warm toned and looks quite orange in the swatch, although the formula is very creamy, so I’m going to work with it and see what I can do.
The contour on the other hand, is the absolute perfect shade for me! It is nicely cool toned, and the formula is just as creamy as the bronzer. I just love the way it slides across the skin so easily, blends out easily and generally a pleasure to work with.
Well that’s about it for my first impressions! What do you think of this kit? Do you have it already? I’d love to know what everyone else thinks. Keep an eye on my social media, as I’ll be using all of my new Makeup Revolution goodies in my upcoming makeup looks. Plus the all important review will be coming, when I’ve had a proper chance to put it through it’s paces.
Yesterday was my swatch and First Impressions of the Make Up Revolution, Fast Base Stick Foundation, if you missed it, go ahead and check it out.
You may not see me on social media, but i may post a quick hello. Tomorrow is Mothers Day so I’m hoping that will put me in better spirits. But for now it’s byeeeeeeee from me xx
