Quest To Change My Makeup Collection – Cruelty Free part 2

Hello my lovelies, sorry for the lack of posts for a while, but I’m afraid I took on a bit much last week. I guess going self hosted, having my medical assessment and preparing a packed weekend of birthday surprises for my daughter, all in one one week was a bad idea!

With having Fibromyalgia and Crohn’s Disease, I sometimes have to plan days in advance, to be able to do the things I want without wiping myself out. I also quite often need time (sometimes days) to recover, and this has been one of those times.

You may have seen my post on Twitter, that I was assaulted and my little girl got hurt in the process this week. I’ve had to take some time to gather myself and take care of my girl, because it was incredibly stressful for both of us. But I’m back now, and ready to get my posting schedule on track again!

Continuing on from my post on Cruelty Free Beauty, today we are looking at which brands have caught my eye to purchase in the future. The aim is for my collection to eventually be completely cruelty free, but I’m not made of money (who is?) so will have to make the change gradually over the coming months. I’d really love for you to follow my journey, and would be even more pleased if you wanted to collaborate in going cruelty free.

I must admit, when I first discovered many of my budget staple products were not cruelty free, I was a little worried about my purse! But thankfully, there is a massive range of animal friendly alternatives to be found. With a little help from Belles Bunnies blog and my own research, I feel making these changes will be relatively easy . I’m really looking forward to finding even better products for my pennies, whilst making a stand against animal cruelty.

LA Girl

Since 1985, LA Girl USA Cosmetics, has taken pride in offering the highest quality products at the most affordable price. The L.A. Girl line targets the diverse beauty needs of women of every demographic around the world. Our research and development team continues to expand the line with innovative products, brought to you in trendsetting colours and styles. For over 25 years L.A. Girl Cosmetics have been making superior cosmetics establishing a name in beauty industries all around the world.Taken from their About Us page.

I’ve heard such great things about LA Girl, and when I found out they are cruelty free, I was so pleased! I’ll be honest, I’ve actually already ordered a couple of products to test out, and you’ll see them in my upcoming haul.

The one I’m most excited about is the Pro Coverage HD Illuminating Foundation. My most coveted holy grail illuminating foundation is from a brand tested on animals, so of course I’m on a mission to find a new one!

LA Girl Pro Coverage HD Illuminating Foundation, Porcelain.

I purchased the LA Girl products from Beauty Bay but you can also get them directly from LA Girl UK here.

Catrice Cosmetics

“CATRICE never misses a single trend, must-have or detail. The range is extremely convincing: a large choice of colours with trendy as well as classic shades for diverse looks. Products with high-quality ingredients, luxurious textures and innovative formulas. Premium packaging. An ideal price-performance-ratio to ensure a pure love of shopping. Twice a year, 25% of the CATRICE range is updated so that there is always something new to discover. Beyond that, our in-house Trend Division develops up to 14 limited make-up collections per year: the current looks of the catwalk shows provide the inspiration for our make-up collections and are re-interpreted with the beauty products by CATRICE. Taken from Catrice Cosmetics Website.

Catrice is such an affordable brand with some cracking products to their name. The only problem here in the UK is getting hold if it! Through a bit of research and determination I found a couple of websites to buy from. I put an order in with Parfum Dreams but I’ve not heard much about them, so I’d like to see how I get on with my order before I recommend them.

I’m really excited to try the products from the Prime and Fine Range so keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming posts!

with a full range of breakthrough beauty products and the season’s hottest colors and formulas, you’ll look great and your skin will feel great too!
express yourself with essence – europe’s no. 1 cosmetic brand!* Taken from their website.

Essence is another really inexpensive brand that many Youtubers and Bloggers rave about. They are much easier for us UK peeps to get our hot little hands on, as Wilko stocks them both in stores and online. Yep you’ve guessed it, there’s a nice little package with my name on it. Well, with prices as low as £1.00 for an eyeliner, who can blame me?

Born and raised in the City of Angels, BH Cosmetics thrives on the cultural and stylistic diversity that makes Los Angeles unique. We’re proud to bring you high-performance makeup in vivid colors that unite style and glam—a philosophy that continues to make us a leader in the beauty industry.

BH Cosmetics is a brand I had mostly seen and heard about brushes, but was really pleased to find more products on Beauty Bay. I wanted to try a little something, and as you know, I love a good lipstick! In my haul post you’ll see this beauty in more detail, but I’ll give you a little sneak peak now.

Jordana Cosmetics

“At Jordana, we believe everyone should be able to create her own unique look with high-quality makeup that’s affordable. For more than 25 years, we’ve held true to that philosophy, earning us customers all over the world!”

All of our products feature advanced formulas and come in a range of amazing colors. We also offer vegan products and products made right here in the USA.

Jordana is family-owned and based in Los Angeles, California. And, even after 25 years, we’re still the leading brand of value-priced cosmetics – for which we thank all of our loyal fans! Here’s to many more years of fierce, fab fun!

Jordana is a brand I’ve heard lots about since I’ve been watching Youtuber Emily Noel 83, for about the past decade. Now how pleased do you think I was to see that not only are they cruelty free, but us English roses can get our hands on them? Oh yes, I had my super happy face on!

Milani Cosmetics targets mass audience beauty needs of women of every demographic around the world. Our research and development team continues to expand the line with innovative products, brought to you in trendsetting colours and styles. For over 25 years Milani Cosmetics have been making superior cosmetics establishing a name in beauty industries all around the world. Every year they do the runways of London and Milan fashion weeks- Inspired by Milan and look by Milani.

Milani is yet another brand I’ve admired from the Youtubers across the pond for many years. I think it’s allot cheaper over there, but I’m still super excited to try various products from them. Being an English Rose, I desperately want to try one of their rose blushes! If you have a favourite shade, I would love to know.

Models Own

Now this is a brand which has been under my nose for a long time, and I used to really enjoy their polishes back in my stamping days. To my absolute delight, they have a great selection of products including tools. I’m pretty sure they were available on the highstreet when I first tried them, but I can’t see them on Boots or Superdrug’s websites. They do have their own website, and it looks like they also have their own store in Westfield Shopping Centre. Unfortunately they don’t have an about us page, so I couldn’t add that in.

Tanya Burr

Tanya Burr is a very well known and loved Youtuber and Blogger. Following her sister in laws, Pixiwoo sister’s Sam and Nic, she has a range of cosmetics in Superdrug. I could only find a few products, but they are really inexpensive and I’m looking forward to picking a couple of them up next time I’m out shopping.

Lottie London

“The home of #trending beauty, you can find all you need to re-create your favourite beauty blogger techniques and makeup looks without the designer price tag! We design and create product inspired by celebrities, social media, bloggers and street style, creating Insta-worthy products that celebrate everything it means to be a beauty addict in a digitally immersed world.

Packed with the ultimate make up must-haves, lust-worthy nail lacquers, ultra-pretty vegan-friendly make-up tools, and powerfully pigmented makeup, Lottie London is the beauty destination for every girl in need of a quick beauty fix.”

Lottie London seems to be quite a trendy brand that have allot to offer at a really great price point. Their products start from a very reasonable £2.99 and their blushes look really beautiful for just £4.99. They seem to have a great range including tools and accessories too, go take a look at their products on Superdrug website.

Well I think that’s enough to be getting on with. What do you think? Do you have any suggestions for some cruelty free brands for me to try out? Or suggestions of great products from the brands I’ve mentioned?

Next up is my haul from Beauty Bay, so be sure to check that out. But for now, it’s byeeeeeee from me folks xx
